Boeing has had a long-standing partnership with Türkiye for 80 years. As a trusted partner of the Turkish aerospace industry, Boeing supports both airline operators with commercial jets and services, and the government with defense platforms.
Boeing has offices in Ankara and Istanbul, including an Engineering and Technology Center in Istanbul. The company works closely with local industry and has invested $2 billion in supply chain work placement in Türkiye. Boeing programs support nearly 5,000 jobs in the country.
As Boeing expands in Türkiye, the company has established a strategic partnership program called the Boeing-Türkiye National Aerospace Initiative (NAI). As part of this program, Boeing increased its sourcing from the Turkish industry, and opened the Engineering and Technology Center in Istanbul, contributing to the development of indigenous aerospace capabilities in Türkiye.

Commercial airplanes
Boeing and Turkish Airlines share a long history that began in 1945 with the arrival of the airline’s first DC-3/C-47 airliners. Turkish Airlines entered the jet age in the late 1960s, when the carrier began operating DC-9, DC-10 and Boeing 707 airplanes. Over the years, Turkish carriers have also flown the 727, 757 and MD-80. The Boeing 737, including 737 MAX, 777, 787 and 777 Freighter make up a significant portion of fleets of such carriers as Turkish Airlines, SunExpress, Corendon and Pegasus Airlines.

Defense & Security
Boeing’s engagement with the Turkish Armed Forces dates back to 1974, when McDonnell Douglas delivered the first F-4 Phantom fighter jet to the Turkish Air Force. Boeing and Türkiye partnered for the joint development and production of four E-7T Peace Eagle Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft for the Turkish Air Force in 2002-2015. Boeing continues to partner with Türkiye for the sustainment of the 4 Peace Eagle aircrafts. Türkiye also currently operates 11 CH-47F Chinook helicopters.

Global services
Commercial airlines based in Türkiye utilize Boeing service offerings, including spare parts to support and maintain fleets, and training solutions for airline personnel. Boeing and Turkish Technic collaborates on service partnerships to serve local fleets and beyond. Boeing has also partnered with Turkish Airlines Flight Academy on a pilot training program and invested in simulator training capability in the Turkish Airlines Flight Training Center in Istanbul.
Digital solutions support a broad range of crew management, flight deck, sustainment and flight operations’ needs, providing real-time access to maintenance, flight and aircraft performance information to optimize efficiency and lower fleet operating costs.

Industry
The Boeing-Türkiye National Aerospace Initiative (NAI) strategic partnership launched in 2017, to enhance Türkiye’s aerospace sector and boost Boeing's in-country growth. It aims to support local industry, expand our Türkiye supply base and over training programs for essential skills to grow the local aerospace sector.
Sustainability
Boeing, Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Technical University joined forces to launch the Türkiye Sustainable Aviation Alliance in 2023. The alliance is an initiative to enhance industry collaboration, increase awareness in sustainability practices and trends in aviation, and explore Türkiye’s potential for sustainable aviation fuel.
Innovation
Boeing has invested $5 million in research, technology and technical aerospace education in Türkiye. The company fosters aerospace innovation by working closely with 4 Turkish universities: Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Technical University, Sabanci University and Koc University.
Community engagement
Boeing has been actively engaged with a wide range of communities in Türkiye for almost 80 years. Over the past decade, Boeing has contributed more than six million dollars in charitable contributions to support community engagement efforts in Türkiye.
Corporate citizenship
Boeing's corporate citizenship program in Türkiye focuses on education, training, and skills development across various fields, partnering with NGOs to implement initiatives in early learning, K–12 education, STEM, aviation, and entrepreneurship.
Newton Concept
We partnered with FIRST Scandinavia and local partners to build the Newton Flight Academy and bring the Mobile Newton Room to Türkiye, supporting strategic skills development in aviation through an interactive educational programme to inspire STEM skills development.
Airpreneurs program
Boeing's "Airpreneurs" program, launched in 2016 with the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation, enhances entrepreneurial skills among university youth in Türkiye, reaching 350,000 students and helping over 700 since 2017, with the 2023 edition focusing on post-pandemic aviation solutions.
Heritage
Boeing has supported Türkiye's cultural heritage by sponsoring archaeological excavations, including significant contributions to the Çatalhöyük site, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as digs at Gordion, Kalehöyük in Kırşehir, and Bathonea in Istanbul.
