Boeing has had a long-standing partnership with Türkiye for 80 years. As a trusted partner of the Turkish aerospace industry, Boeing supports both airline operators with commercial jets and services, and the government with defense platforms.
Boeing has offces in Ankara and Istanbul, including an Engineering and Technology Center in Istanbul. The company works closely with local industry and has invested $2 billion in supply chain work placement in Türkiye. Boeing programs support nearly 5,000 jobs in the country.
As Boeing expands in Türkiye, the company has established a strategic partnership program called the Boeing-Türkiye National Aerospace Initiative (NAI). As part of this program, Boeing increased its sourcing from the Turkish industry, and opened the Engineering and Technology Center in Istanbul, contributing to the development of indigenous aerospace capabilities in Türkiye.

Boeing and Turkish Airlines share a long history that began in 1945 with the arrival of the airline’s first DC-3/C-47 airliners. Turkish Airlines entered the jet age in the late 1960s, when the carrier began operating DC-9, DC-10 and Boeing 707 airplanes. Over the years, Turkish carriers have also flown the 727, 757 and MD-80. The Boeing 737, including 737 MAX, 777, 787 and 777 Freighter make up a significant portion of fleets of such carriers as Turkish Airlines, SunExpress, Corendon and Pegasus Airlines.

Boeing’s engagement with the Turkish Armed Forces dates back to 1974, when McDonnell Douglas delivered the first F-4 Phantom fighter jet to the Turkish Air Force. Boeing and Türkiye partnered for the joint development and production of four E-7T Peace Eagle Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft for the Turkish Air Force in 2002-2015. Boeing continues to partner with Türkiye for the sustainment of the 4 Peace Eagle aircrafts. Türkiye also currently operates 11 CH-47F Chinook helicopters.
